A modern three-story Houston Methodist medical building during twilight, with warm interior lighting visible through large glass windows. The building features a sleek architectural design with a central glass atrium housing a staircase. A covered drop-off area extends from the entrance, supported by wooden beams. The surrounding parking lot is filled with cars and landscaped with shrubs, trees, and pathway lighting. Inside, silhouettes of people can be seen in patient rooms and office spaces. This image shows BSA's expertise in exterior architecture and digital rendering.

A Digitally Advanced Outpatient Facility

BSA is leading the design of the new Houston Methodist Cinco Ranch Comprehensive Care Center, a three-story outpatient facility located on a 7.263-acre site in a partially developed area. This state-of-the-art medical center will expand access to:

  • Primary care and same-day clinic appointments
  • Specialized care services such as orthopedics, neurology, gastroenterology, urology and rheumatology
  • Imaging and lab services including MRI, CT, and X-ray
  • Physical therapy services

As a forward-looking facility, adaptability is the core of the Comprehensive Care Center’s design. A resilient infrastructure supports today’s healthcare needs while preparing for the future of digital health technologies. Its design enhances communication between physicians, staff, patients, and their families, setting a new standard for connected, patient-centered care environments.

Houston Methodist’s Center for Innovation Informs BSA Design

This project also integrates insights from Houston Methodist’s Center for Innovation (CFI), established in 2018 to advance clinical technology. The CFI launched the Technology Hub (“Tech Hub”), a controlled simulation environment where emerging digital innovations are tested and validated. The Tech Hub’s research and evaluation framework is shaping how new technologies—from digital monitoring to AI-driven decision support—can transform healthcare delivery, improve clinical efficiency, and strengthen the entire patient care continuum, from pre-visit through post-discharge.

BSA’s role includes aligning the facility design with Houston Methodist’s innovation strategy, incorporating a Design Basis framework to assess, index, and adapt new technologies as they evolve. The planning process also integrates BSA’s core design principles: functional flow, operational efficiency, standardization, and the creation of flexible, welcoming spaces that adapt alongside emerging clinical advancements.

This collaboration blends cutting-edge digital health integration with BSA’s expertise in creating sustainable, patient-focused healing environments.
