A Legacy of Purpose-Driven Design, A Future of Inspired Solutions and Endless Possibilities to Improve Lives

Since July 1, 1975, BSA has dedicated itself to designing environments that improve lives. From a modest beginning in Indianapolis, BSA has grown into a nationally respected architecture, engineering, interior design, and planning firm with studios across the country—including Austin, Denver, St. Louis, Raleigh, Tampa, and our founding home in Indianapolis. As we celebrate 50 years of practice, our mission remains rooted in creating purposeful, human-centered spaces for healing, learning, and discovery.

To mark our 50th anniversary, we’re reflecting on our history, celebrating our people, and sharing stories that honor our legacy while embracing the future. We’ve launched videos that tell the story of BSA: our past, present, and future.

We’ve also launched a podcast mini-series that brings the voices of BSApast  and presentto the forefront:

Watch out for Episode 4: “Design That Inspires What’s Next” releasing July 8. Chief Design Officer Tim Bosche and Design Principal Justin Beadle will look to the future of design at BSA, anchored in Human-Centered Design, Intelligent Structures, and Technology-Infused Design.

Our National Presence and Continued Growth

With studios strategically located across the country, BSA has expanded to better serve clients wherever they are… and wherever they go. Our national footprint continues to grow as we seek new opportunities to bring our expertise in healing, learning, and discovery to communities across the country.

Each studio shares a common DNA: a deep understanding of the people and purpose behind each project and a collaborative culture that empowers our teams to deliver meaningful design solutions.

Looking Ahead

As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, we’re not just looking back. We’re looking forward. We’re challenging ourselves to reimagine how design can drive innovation and create real impact in the lives of the people who use the spaces we shape.

“At 50 years, BSA stands at an exciting crossroads of legacy and innovation,” said Tim Spence, CEO of BSA. “We’re honoring the values that got us here—client focus, collaboration, and purposeful design—while embracing the opportunity to shape what’s next. Our best work lies ahead.”

We thank our clients, partners, and employee-owners who have shaped this incredible journey. Here’s to the next 50 years of designing spaces that change lives.
