BSA, a nationally recognized architecture, engineering, interior design, and planning firm, is expanding its presence with the launch of a new studio in Charlotte, North Carolina. More than a new office, the Charlotte studio represents a bold step forward in shaping the future of BSA’s work across healing, learning, and discovery environments.
“BSA’s 50-year history has been guided by the belief that the spaces we design can transform lives,” said Tim Spence, CEO of BSA. “The Charlotte studio opens new opportunities to collaborate with clients who are reimagining how people heal, learn, and discover.”
The studio will advance integrated design thinking by bringing together architecture, engineering, interior design, and planning expertise to address emerging challenges in healthcare, higher education, and research environments. By blending BSA’s national expertise with strong local leadership, the Charlotte studio will foster collaboration, mentorship, and thought leadership that shape how design can meaningfully impact communities.
“Our vision is for the Charlotte studio to become a hub for innovation and partnership,” said Adam Chahulski, Principal at BSA. “This expansion is an invitation to the region’s leaders and institutions to imagine what’s next. Our team has spent more than a decade building trust with clients across the region, and now we’re ready to explore new models of care, elevate learning environments, and design spaces that inspire discovery.”
BSA’s dedication to intelligent, human-centered design is reflected in its recent national recognition, including #10 on Modern Healthcare’s Construction & Design Survey of top healthcare architecture firms and #9 on Building Design + Construction’s Giants 400 list of top university architecture firms.
The Charlotte studio becomes BSA’s seventh location, joining Austin, Denver, Indianapolis, Raleigh, St. Louis, and Tampa. Together, these studios form a connected network of expertise with a singular mission: creating inspired solutions that improve lives.
